He will present “Bicycle Rides Across America” from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Blue Hills Lecture Hall in Ritzinger Hall. The presentation also will be livestreamed at ricelaketv.com.

Gray rode his bike across the U.S. from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean in the summer of 2024. He had previously ridden the length of the Mississippi River from northern Minnesota to New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2022. Gray will describe his experiences from these journeys.

Gray retired in 2024 after practicing ophthalmology for 35 years. He lives in Rice Lake with his biking partner and wife, Lori.

The Thursdays at the U weekly series is free and open to the public thanks to support from the UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Foundation. Neither seating reservations nor parking permits are needed for in-person attendees.

Although in-person attendance is encouraged, most talks in the series are livestreamed. They also are archived and can be watched later on the Thursdays at the U webpage.

The next lecture in the series will be Oct. 2, with Abbey Krumrie presenting “Raptors of the Driftless.”
