Toni Mattson, co-owner and director of programs at Trinity Equestrian Center in Eau Claire, is the featured speaker for the Nov. 13 Thursdays at the U presentation at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Barron County.
Toni Mattson
She will present “Where the Battle Ends and the Healing Begins” from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Blue Hills Lecture Hall in Ritzinger Hall. The presentation also will be livestreamed at ricelaketv.com.
Mattson will share what really happens after military service ends — and how healing starts in unexpected ways. With stories from her work at Trinity Equestrian Center, she will reveal what veterans truly need to feel seen, supported and whole again.
After 15 years of supporting veterans battling post-traumatic stress disorder, Mattson has learned about the transformative power of hope. More than a concept, hope is a lifeline. It’s what stops someone from giving up and facing a fate too many veterans succumb to daily.
The Thursdays at the U weekly series is free and open to the public thanks to support from the UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Foundation. Neither seating reservations nor parking permits are needed for in-person attendees.
Although in-person attendance is encouraged, most talks in the series are livestreamed. They also are archived and can be watched later on the Thursdays at the U webpage.
The next lecture in the series will be Nov. 20, with Linda Tollefsrud presenting “Backpacking 500 Miles Across Spain.”
