He will show clips from his documentary films and TV shows as he discusses how we can affect positive change through the power of visual storytelling.

Roesler’s work has moved millions via PBS, The Travel Channel and The New York Times.

His debut feature film, “The Starfish Throwers,” was named “The Most Heartwarming Film of the Year” by The Huffington Post. His most recent film, “Breaking Trail,” followed Emily Ford’s historic Ice Age Trail thru-hike in winter and won dozens of film festival awards.

The Thursdays at the U weekly series is free and open to the public thanks to support from the UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Foundation. Neither seating reservations nor parking permits are needed for in-person attendees.

Although in-person attendance is encouraged, most talks in the series are livestreamed. They also are archived and can be watched later on the Thursdays at the U webpage.

The next lecture in the series will be Feb. 27, with Dr. Abbey Fischer presenting “Geeking Out About the Boundary Waters.”
