UW-Eau Claire – Barron County to host annual Wizarding Academy in July

Magic is returning to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Barron County this summer as the campus once again hosts its beloved Wizarding Academy on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Open to young wizards ages 8-15, this full-day event invites participants to step into a world of imagination and discovery.

Wizards-in-training will be sorted into houses, craft their own wands and compete for the House Cup through a series of magical adventures, from repotting mandrakes and decoding mystical maps to charting celestial constellations.

Special holiday bonus!

Wizards who register by Sunday, Nov. 30, will receive a personalized acceptance letter delivered just in time for the holidays — the perfect magical surprise for young wizards eagerly awaiting their invitation to the academy.

Lunch will be provided, and families can plan for a full day of fun with check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. and pickup at 4 p.m.

The Wizarding Academy has become a local favorite, offering a unique opportunity for kids to explore creativity, teamwork and curiosity in a fun, safe and educational environment.
