Give to UW-Eau Claire – Barron County
Community Partners
Community partners are vital to our mission to provide students access to a transformational educational experience at UW-Eau Claire – Barron County.
Founded in 1966, the UW-Barron County Foundation’s board of directors and volunteers includes alumni, friends, community leaders, faculty and staff. Our non-profit corporation plays an increasingly important role in helping the campus fulfill its educational mission. Though UW-Eau Claire — Barron County receives funding from the State of Wisconsin and Barron County, we would not be able to offer students a wide variety of opportunities if it were not for the foundation and the philanthropic support of the community.
Your financial support will ensure the foundation can continue to offer students scholarships, fund critical professional development for our outstanding faculty and staff, and support campus initiatives that make UW-Eau Claire – Barron County an asset to the communities in northwest Wisconsin.
Create a Legacy
IRA Charitable Rollover
In 2015, Congress enacted a permanent extension of the IRA charitable rollover. As a result, individuals age 70½ or older can make gifts directly from their IRA to charity. An IRA Charitable Rollover will allow you to:
Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to our organization
Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
Make a gift that is not subject to the 50% deduction limits on charitable gifts
Help further the work and mission of UW-Barron County Foundation
Sophisticated Giving
Sophisticated Giving can include creating tax avoidance, sharing your values with your heirs, establishing a family foundation account or Donor Advised Fund, and/or multiplying the dollars you give to charity. We are happy to share information on Sophisticated Giving here.
