Your health is a priority

The University provides a range of services to support student health and wellness from disability accommodations to alcohol and drug education, to mental health services. Students who aren't already covered by a family member's policy are encouraged to sign up for health insurance.

UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Student Health Insurance

All students in the University of Wisconsin Colleges are urged to have health insurance. Currently, UW Colleges does not offer student health insurance for domestic students.

Student Health Services

Our shared health service is located in room 116 of the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) Administration Building — adjacent to the UW-Eau Claire – Barron County campus. Registered nurse Seene is available to see students but hours vary week by week so please call or check the office door for posted hours. She performs confidential health counseling, first aid and treatment of minor illness and is available to give health education tips to students, faculty and staff.

On-Campus Counseling Services for UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Students

The Counseling Services Office is located in M157. Dr. Bruce Jungerberg is available to give individual counseling to students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Counselors work with students to enhance their personal development and academic success. Students meet with a professional counselor to discuss a variety of concerns in a positive, confidential setting. Some of the more common areas and concerns that can be addressed are relationships, identity, self-esteem and confidence, depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, food and body image, chemical use, and career choices. AODE Information

UW-Eau Claire  Barron County has an Alcohol and Other Drug Education program that promotes healthy lifestyles and wellness topics. Visit the AODE website for students that offers current, relevant information on alcohol, other drugs, and general wellness topics. It also has several interactive opportunities for students to get feedback on a variety of topics.

UW-Eau Claire Counseling Services provides links to hundreds of “virtual” self-help pamphlets on topics including:
